that the following members of the Class of 1953 have died: Ann Darlene Downhour Miller Kelley, of Kokomo, Indiana, April 15, 2020; 8th grade only. James D "Jim" Goodall, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, March 14, 2020; 8th grade only. John Tugaw "Jack" Legier, of Key Largo, Florida; October 5, 1997; 8th grade only. Richard Eugene Rairdon, of Gilbert, Arizona, June 22, 2021; 9th grade only. Reba Kay Weddle, in Bloomington, December 10, 2022; in the '45-'49 Jordannuses, she was with the Class of '53 in some years and the Class of '54 in others. James Alvin Yale, of Gunnison, Colorado, February 21, 2021; 8th grade only. |
| 01 Sep 2023 | While researching her sister Marina '55, we found that Carolyn Burke Snow Kraus, of Seattle, died February 5, 2015. A Find-A-Grave page has been created, but we have found little information. |
| 07 May 2022 | Louella Maxine "Micky" Penrose Waldrip, of Martinsville, Indiana, died April 24, 2022, in Indianapolis. A short obituary is on her Find-A-Grave page. |
| 13 Feb 2022 | Gloridine "Gloria Dean" Patton McCammon died in Bloomington on February 8, 2022. She was at UHS for just 1 year, and is named as "not pictured" on the 9th grade photo page of the 1950 Jordannus. A photo and obituary are on her Find-A-Grave page. |

| 17 June 2019 | From examination of Jordannuses from '39 through '53, 51 more people who attended UHS at one time or another have been added to the database. Most of these are listed below as "misssing." However, Phyllis Joan Floyd Terrell is known deceased. A Find-A-Grave page has been created. |

| 1/03/08 | Phyllis Rich Hackler of Bloomington passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008. Phyllis was born in Bloomington, the daughter of Claude and Gertrude Spraker Rich. She was a graduate of University High School and Indiana University. Surviving is her husband of 51 years, Richard Hackler of Bloomington; 2 sons and daughters-in-law; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and her brother, David Rich (UHS '59), and his wife, of Bloomington. Preceding her in death was one grandson. |
| 11/07/01 | Art Fell writes: Warm regards to all fellow classmates at UHS. I just attended the 50th of my sister held chez Sue Fox in Bloomington and it was a delight. I think I missed some fellow classmates the first evening, arriving late, but saw many from '51. Congratulations to Margaret Edmondson for starting this website and thanks. If any of you come to France and wish to contact me, do not hesitate to do so. I cannot promise anything particular but if possible maybe we could meet up. regards, art fell |

| 2003 - Fiftieth | Class of 1953 50th Reunion activities in Bloomington began
May 29th, which is the exact date of our graduation in Alumni Hall 50 years
ago. Dinner in the Federal Room of the Indiana Memorial Union that evening. Ya'll Come party at Murray and Sue Fox Robinson's home in Bloomington the next evening, Friday May 30th. Wind-up with a picnic at Ed and Debbie Walden Huddleson's home Saturday afternoon, May 31st.
